Sugar Cane Trail

The Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail is a 5.6 mile loop in the Caney Lake Recreation Area that is famous for its scenic beauty and challenging terrain. The forest area around the lakes is restored from old cotton and sugar cane fields, which is where this trail gets it’s name from. The main Sugar Cane Trail completely encircles the Upper Caney Lake and has two additional loops that branch off of it:

  • Sugar Cane National Recreation Trail (5.6 miles)
  • Beech Bottom Loop (2.1 miles)
  • Lost Man Loop (1.9 miles)
